Stuck in California

A wave of mysterious disappearances has swept across the globe: overnight, world leaders, celebrities, and the brightest minds in science and business vanished without a trace. After twenty-four hours of global panic, a temporal terrorist organization calling itself the "TT Gang" claimed responsibility. They announced that all the missing individuals had been transported to the past and would only be returned if world governments and corporations paid a ransom of one trillion US dollars.

Meanwhile, all the "time hostages" find themselves in 1859 California, near the town of Santa Monica, where they must survive until the ransom is scraped together. But they can also take matters into their own hands: it just so happens that a scientist lives in this very town (rumors that he is "mad" are total lies!), and he has nearly completed work on a time machine. With the help of our heroes, he can gather enough "paradox energy" to create a portal that will return the hostages to their own time.
